RIYADH: From now until April 27, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs will be participating in the 30th Rabat International Book and Publishing Fair in the Moroccan capital. According to the Saudi Press Agency, this demonstrates the ministry’s dedication to printing, publishing, and teaching the Holy Qur’an, as well as its efforts to spread the Kingdom’s message of moderation and tolerance.
A portion of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an in Madinah is on display at the ministry’s pavilion, along with an extensive collection of printed Qur’ans and translations in other languages.
The Makkah Library, which has rare and historical Islamic manuscripts by well-known authors, linguists, and academics, is highlighted in another section. For fair attendees, the ministry is also offering a variety of digital programs and applications through the General Secretariat for Exhibitions and Conferences.
Participating as well is the Kingdom’s Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, which will highlight projects meant to promote the publishing sector and enhance cultural events. These include fostering regional literary production, showcasing the Kingdom’s cultural traditions, highlighting the Kingdom’s intellectual heritage, and supporting Saudi publishers and literary agents worldwide.
