Nine contracts worth over SR1 billion ($266.5 million) have been signed by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, or MODON, with the private sector to upgrade infrastructure and service facilities in major industrial hubs.
MODON recently highlighted projects that its CEO, Majed Al-Argoubi, had secured on X. These include the completion of the first infrastructure phase in Jeddah’s Third Industrial City and the establishment of the first infrastructure networks in Makkah’s industrial city. Additionally, MODON intends to build 132-kilovolt overhead power lines to improve Tabuk’s industrial city’s electrical services.
Collaborations between the public and private sectors are now essential to drawing large investments to Saudi Arabia. The identities of the businesses that received the contracts, as well as their amounts, were kept secret.
Plans for a number of new projects were also disclosed by MODON, including the construction of 115-kV overhead power lines to enhance electrical services in the industrial city of Hafr Al-Batin. The Third Industrial City in Dammam’s first and second phases will also be the focus of the authority’s efforts to create and improve infrastructure networks.
The second industrial cities of Tabuk, Hafr Al-Batin, and Jeddah will be the sites of the construction and implementation of critical services.
