Saudi Arabia Celebrates Eid With Joy and Unity

RIYADH: Religious zeal and joy are abound throughout the Saudi Kingdom as people celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, a highlight of the Islamic calendar that signifies the completion of the month-long fast of Ramadan.

According to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, Muslims throughout Saudi Arabia observed the joyous Eid Al-Fitr prayers on Wednesday morning, 15 minutes after sunrise. Worshippers flocked to specially designated prayer rooms and mosques that had been painstakingly constructed throughout the Kingdom in the early morning hours in preparation for the Eid prayer.

The holy month of Ramadan came to an end with the Eid Al-Fitr prayers led by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. While the crown prince led worshippers in Eid prayers in the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the king led prayers at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah alongside several princes and high-ranking officials.

Following that, the crown prince greeted excellencies, top officials, sheikhs, princes, and scholars on Eid.Thousands of Muslims filled the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah for the joyous Eid Al-Fitr prayer. The prayer in the Grand Mosque was led by Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid.
