RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has intensified its long-standing humanitarian support in Palestine, increasing both cash contributions and vital medical resources, as violence continues to bleed over borders.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan informed the UN General Assembly that Saudi Arabia has personally provided $185 million in humanitarian aid to Palestine through the Saudi aid organisation KSrelief since the conflict began on October 7 of last year.
In his statement on September 28, Prince Faisal also mentioned that Saudi Arabia is collaborating with several UN organisations to raise $106 billion for humanitarian aid and reconstruction.
Over the years, Saudi Arabia has provided more than $5.3 billion in support for the Palestinian people through 289 initiatives, according to KSrelief.
In order to better address the pressing needs of individuals impacted by the current conflict in Palestine, the Kingdom has greatly increased its support since October 7 and expanded the scope, efficacy, and capability of its humanitarian projects.
Saudi Arabia has shown a strong commitment to helping the Palestinian people with their humanitarian needs.
Following October 7, the Kingdom made a significant donation of $34.8 million in relief and humanitarian supplies, which included roughly 6,535.5 tonnes of food, shelter, medical care, and logistical support via air and sea.
