BEIJING: An agreement has been reached between the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission and the China National Publications Import and Export Group Corporation to have Saudi Arabia attend the Beijing International Book Fair as the honored guest. The event will take place in the Chinese capital from June 19 to June 23 this year.

Chinese officials, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Culture, and Dr. Mohammed Hasan Alwan, CEO of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, attended the signing event.

Saudi Arabia’s participation in the fair is a step toward fostering conversation, advancing friendship and collaboration between the two nations, improving cultural exchange, and boosting cooperation in literature, culture, and the arts.

A number of different Saudi organizations will participate in the fair to showcase the Kingdom’s tradition, wisdom, and cultural diversity. The cultural program will be varied and include talks, workshops, seminars, and artistic performances.

The Kingdom will be the next honored guest after Beijing at the Seoul International Book Fair, which takes place from June 26 to 30, 2024. The Kingdom was the guest of honor at the New Delhi International Book Fair, which took place from February 10 to 18.
