According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Cabinet on Tuesday commended Saudi Arabia for submitting its candidacy to host the 2034 World Cup.
The Cabinet stated during a meeting presided over by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the Kingdom’s decision to host the World Cup will demonstrate its commitment to putting on an outstanding rendition of the important athletic event.
A delegation led by Saudi Football Federation President Yasser Al-Misehal and Minister of Sports Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal presented the request to FIFA authorities on Monday in Paris.
The minister declared, “With this candidacy, we intend to host the exceptional edition that brings together 48 teams for the first time in the tournament’s history in one country.”
“Saudi Arabia is putting forth a bid for the future—to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. It’s for our kids and for bold dreamers.
In a separate meeting, the ministers discussed Saudi Vision 2030’s development and applauded the progress done in the housing and health transformation initiatives.
Initiatives, in particular, to increase the percentage of Saudi families that own a home, provide thousands of housing units to recipients of developmental housing, and enhance healthcare accessible.
