NEW DELHI: India’s military announced on Friday that the first army-to-army negotiations between the Indian Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces had resulted in an annual defence cooperation plan, which includes expert exchanges, joint drills, and operational logistics. The discussions were held from April 23 to 24 in New Delhi.
According to the Indian Ministry of Defence’s public information office, discussions centred on the yearly defence cooperation plan, which covered topics such as training, military education, domain expert exchanges, joint exercises, and engagements in areas of mutual interest.
To improve interoperability and capabilities development, the two sides also explored potential areas of cooperation in operational logistics, battlefield management systems, and specialised technology, the statement read.
The goal of the Sada Tanseeq exercise, initially conducted in January and February in Rajasthan, is to enhance the capacity of the two countries’ ground forces to operate together and communicate, particularly in semi-desert areas.
Ninety personnel from both sides participated in the exercise, which focused on preparing for operations under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which addresses acts of aggression, threats to peace, and breaches of peace.
