JEDDAH: According to the CEO of Johnson Controls Arabia, the Kingdom will be exporting 300 scroll chillers to the US, a first for the country.
The products have a market value of SR100 million ($26.66 million), according to Mohamad Al-Shaikh in an interview with Arab News. The Johnson Controls Arabia Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City will be the source of the shipment.
The executive stated that even though Saudi Arabia’s total addressable market is still small compared to the world’s demand, the country’s demand for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) equipment and technology is growing.
Al-Shaikh expressed his pride in the company’s achievement of securing its biggest export order to date, saying, “As a Saudi company, we are proud to have reached a point where our products are competitively priced and meet all quality requirements as specified by the specifications for the US market.
To support economic diversification and local production development, the company intends to raise exports from thirty to sixty percent of its total output during the next three years. This move is in line with the national industrial strategy and Vision 2030. He declared: “We are also excited to announce that we will be shipping 1,000 YORK Scroll Chillers in three phases next year—our most ambitious and largest export order to date.”
During the event, a memorandum of understanding between Johnson Controls Arabia and the Saudi Export Development Authority was also signed.
