South Korea Celebrates National Day with Grandeur and Pride

RIYADH: The South Korean Embassy in Riyadh lit up with music, color, and celebration on Thursday night as it hosted an outdoor reception to mark the 95th National Day of South Korea. Acting Ambassador Moon Byung-Jun opened the evening by celebrating the long-standing friendship between Korea and Saudi Arabia, describing it as “a journey built on trust and cooperation.

Dr. Faisal Al-Sudairi, undersecretary of the Riyadh region, attended as the guest of honor, joining diplomats, dignitaries, and guests in commemorating decades of partnership between the two nations. In his remarks, Moon looked back on the history of Korea–Saudi relations, which began with diplomatic ties in 1962 and the establishment of the Korean Embassy in Riyadh a decade later.

He highlighted how Korean engineers played a vital role in building Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure in the 1970s and 1980s, and how this partnership has since evolved to include cutting-edge collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital technology, defense, renewable energy, health care, education, and culture. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Korea’s innovation-driven growth strategy are working hand in hand, making our two nations strategic partners for a sustainable future,” he said.
