The Ambassador of Spain Says Goodbye to Saudi Arabia with fondness

RIYADH: As he was ready to bid Saudi Arabia a fond farewell, Spain’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Jorge Sierra, offered his thoughts on Saudi-Spanish ties and reminisced about some of his favorite experiences.

It has been an amazing experience to get to know such a stunning nation with such a distinct personality during an exciting time of social and economic development. “So much is happening here,” he remarked.

Sierra arrived in the Kingdom the month after being appointed ambassador on October 21, 2021. He recounted some of his best recollections of working in Saudi Arabia in an interview with Arab News, stating that he was already fairly familiar with the nation from talks with his predecessors and a 2002 visit.

Going to the Empty Quarter was undoubtedly my most unforgettable experience; it was incredible,” he remarked. We travelled with a group of experts who specialize in that specific type of tourism, and we were a party of twelve. It was fantastic throughout our three days there. It was intriguing. I’m overjoyed that I succeeded. Another highlight of his trip was the ancient city of AlUla, which he claimed to have visited multiple times.
