The Future of UAE-EAEU Trade: Trends, Challenges, and Growth Prospects Beyond 2025

The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) agreed by the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) last year has increased trade by 15% to $33.3 billion (Dh121.1 billion). This was announced during UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi’s visit to Astana, Kazakhstan, for the Eurasian Economic Forum 2026.

Trade with Kazakhstan was around $6.1 billion, representing an 8.6 percent rise. In terms of Arab commercial partners, the UAE remains Kazakhstan’s most important. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia are all members of the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the forum, Al Zeyoudi emphasized the necessity of expanding trade routes, implementing paperless logistics, and encouraging multilateral investment in the transportation and logistics sectors. Al Zeyoudi also had bilateral discussions with Andrey Slepnev, Minister in Charge of Trade at the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration.

Our participation in the Eurasian Economic Forum has reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with the EAEU.” By forging strong partnerships, we hope to open up new prospects for trade and investment, cementing our position as a global hub for innovation and sustainable growth,” added the UAE minister.
