The Saudi Academy Begins Offering Arabic Immersion Classes

RIYADH: Fifty non-native Arabic speakers have been accepted into the second Linguistic Immersion program at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the event, which takes place at the academy’s headquarters in Riyadh, has participants from 20 different countries and debuts two new tracks. Aiming to improve participants’ Arabic proficiency for cultural and tourism purposes, the eight-week program builds on the success of the 2023 edition in Jeddah, which drew over 100 students from 34 countries.

Through an immersive experience centred on assimilating into Saudi society, students will acquire a profound comprehension of the language, according to the SPA. The program supports Saudi Arabia’s Human Capability Development Program and is in line with the academy’s goal of promoting Arabic worldwide. To make sure they fulfilled the requirements for the flagship program, participants were chosen through a rigorous admissions process.

The program, which is split into two courses, accommodates various learning requirements. Through field trips and training, the tourism track gives 25 students, tourists, and visitors the practical skills they need to negotiate real-life situations in Arabic while learning about Saudi culture. The cultural track aims to improve language ability in a complete learning setting for university students and language centre users.
