ANKARA: The Saudi Press Agency said on Wednesday that the Kingdom condemned the terror incident that attacked a defence firm in Ankara, as reported by the Saudi Embassy in Turkiye.
The Kingdom firmly opposes terrorism and extremism in all of its manifestations, the embassy reaffirmed.
Additionally, it wished the injured a swift recovery and sent its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, the Turkish government, and the people of Turkiye.
Five people were killed and over a dozen were injured when assailants detonated explosives and opened fire at Turkiye’s state-run aerospace and defence corporation TUSAS earlier on Wednesday, according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
He stated that two of the attackers, a man and a woman, had been slain. The statement reiterates the Kingdom’s rejection of terrorism and extremism. Although Yerlikaya warned that the process of identifying the attackers was still ongoing, he stated that the militant Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, was suspected of being responsible for the attack.
