Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi minister of foreign affairs, joined his colleagues from many Arab nations during the expanded session of the second G7 foreign ministers’ conference, “Together for the Stability of the Middle East,” held in Fiuggi, Italy, on Monday. Along with the Arab League secretary general, representatives from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt represented the Arab nations at the summit.
During his speech, Prince Faisal stressed the value of fortifying several alliances to address regional and global issues. He also discussed the events in Lebanon and Gaza.
The international community must take responsibility, act toward an immediate truce in Gaza, guarantee unhindered assistance delivery, and strive toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state under the two-state solution, Prince Faisal emphasized.
The necessity to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and defuse the situation there was emphasized by the foreign minister. He also underlined the pressing need to put a stop to the suffering of people in Sudan and find a long-term solution to the conflict there. Prince Faisal bin Sattam, the Saudi ambassador to Italy, was present at the meeting.
