Three Umrah Performers are Saved by Makkah Cardiac Care

MAKKAH: A 59-year-old Iraqi Umrah pilgrim who had a severe coronary artery clot was saved from death by a three-hour emergency open-heart surgery done by a cardiac team at King Abdullah Medical City, which is a part of the Makkah Health Cluster. The Saudi Press Agency said on Monday that the patient was taken to the intensive care unit following the surgery, where he was promptly weaned off of ventilators and recovered steadily, stabilising his condition.

According to the SPA, the instance demonstrates King Abdullah Medical City’s capacity to offer Umrah and other pilgrims outstanding specialised care. Meanwhile, an 86-year-old Libyan Umrah pilgrim who had a heart attack and needed immediate medical attention was saved by the cardiac catheterisation team at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, which is also a part of the Makkah Health Cluster.

According to the SPA, the hospital’s heart centre is well prepared for such situations and has highly skilled medical teams dedicated to providing cutting-edge care in accordance with the highest standards. A 68-year-old Egyptian woman who was undertaking Umrah was also treated by the Al-Noor team by having her right coronary artery catheterised.
