Tokyo: Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, stated on Monday that Osaka Expo 2025 presents a “significant chance” to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and Japan. Prince Faisal met with his Japanese colleague Takeshi Iwaya during the second Japan-Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministerial Level Strategic Dialogue meeting in Tokyo. Cooperation and “working together for a better future” were topics of conversation between the two officials.
Additionally, Prince Faisal underlined that the two countries’ diplomatic ties are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. A strategic collaboration agreement of understanding and visa waivers for diplomats and officials from both nations were signed by the two officials. Iwaya expressed his excitement for more cooperation between the public and corporate sectors of the two countries.
Iwaya went on to say that Japan wishes to cooperate with Saudi Arabia in order to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. Ministers sign agreements on strategic cooperation and visa exemptions for officials and diplomats from both nations.
