There’s a moment in every industry when the old playbook stops working, when the usual answers no longer fit the questions being asked. The leaders who move first in that moment are the ones who end up shaping what comes next.
10 Business Leaders in Spotlight—2026 brings together professionals who found that moment in their own industries and acted on it, each building something that carries their name and their conviction.
This edition opens with Mohammed Abunayyan, whose leadership at Tamear reflects the operational discipline behind Saudi Vision 2030. In travel, Abdul Rashid is proving that luxury booking across the UAE and the US can be both effortless and personal through Luxurybookings.ae. From Yerevan, Alexander Aramyan took a different route entirely, building The Monica Studios on the idea that founders already carry the stories worth telling and simply need a way to draw them out. Sandeep Virdee brings a similar instinct for the unexplored, spending 25 years chasing overlooked opportunities before turning his focus to longevity science with NAD+OLOGY. And Alla Postulga, known as Digital Lady Designer, rounds out the list by helping professionals and organizations shape an authentic digital presence that reflects who they really are.
From advertising, Anyce Nedir is drawing on two decades of agency experience to build a different kind of marketing company, one that helps brands create, measure, and improve their campaigns more effectively. Ahmed Basha has spent much of his career helping businesses turn technical knowledge into practical skills, and today he is expanding that work across the Middle East through INTRO Tech Academy. In banking, Abdulrahman Alonaizan has dedicated nearly four decades to business continuity and crisis management, helping organizations become better prepared for disruption. Daniel A. MacKenzie brings decades of international experience to his work across technology, sustainability, and business, with a strong belief in collaboration and shared responsibility. And David Wortley, a technology pioneer with more than five decades of experience, is revisiting our changing relationship with technology through the relaunch of his book Gadgets to God, first published 15 years ago.
Meet the Leaders in Spotlight
The following profiles introduce each leader featured in this edition, exploring their paths, their philosophies, and the impact they continue to make within their industries.
The Journey to Business Transformation | Mohammed Abunayyan

In the current times as market shifts and technologies have evolved, business transformation is a reflection of effective leadership. A Saudi executive and transformation leader, Mohammed Abunayyan has been turning every strategy into impactful results across sectors.
Alongside a Bachelor’s in Finance from Prince Sultan University, he has even completed executive leadership programs at Harvard University, and Stanford University. With a leadership approach that’s rooted in operational excellence, strategic clarity, and creating long-term stakeholder value, his work is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030.
Bringing over two decades of experience, he currently serves as the CEO of Tamear, a part of Al Akaria Group. From leading the company’s strategy, operations, governance, and growth, he is playing an active role in shaping the future of Tamear. Under his leadership, the company underwent major transformations, from positive cash flow to sustainable profitability and efficient risk management.
Across his roles, Mohammed’s belief has remained the same: “Clear strategy, empowered teams, and strong governance are the pillars of sustainable success.” Throughout his career, his expertise has empowered businesses with revenues of up to SAR 800 million and workforces exceeding 2,000 employees. Parallel to this, he has even contributed to major infrastructure and public-private partnership projects in Saudi Arabia.
Today, as Mohammed Abunayyan continues to play a crucial role in establishing Tamear at a strong market position, his aim to create lasting economic value while staying adaptable in changing markets remains unchanged.

Alexander Aramyan on Turning Founders’ Private Thoughts into Public Influence

Leaders who bring a passion to innovate are the ones who can reshape industries. The Monica Studios is the work of Alexander Aramyan, a Yerevan-based founder building on a simple, underused premise: the story a founder needs to tell on LinkedIn is usually the one they’re too busy, or too unsure, to write down. Alexander set out to close that gap, not with another content template, but with a companion that listens first and writes second.
That companion is Monica, a Telegram bot designed to function less like a tool and more like a confidant. Alexander comments, “Founders talk to it the way they would journal or vent — about wins, setbacks, whatever is moving through their day, and Monica listens, responds, and keeps the conversation going. Content ideas surface naturally from those exchanges. Days later, Monica returns with follow-up questions, reopening the dialogue and mining it for what comes next. Over time, Monica learns to recognize a founder’s distinct voice, so the drafts it produces sound like the person, not the software.”
Alexander’s journey to building Monica has never been without challenges. Apart from a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the American University of Armenia, he started working at quite a young age. With his first web development internship at 14, and by 16, leading nearly 100 volunteers as Vice President of ICT at saTurn, an Armenian NGO that educated teenagers entirely through social media, Alexander played an active role in growing the platform into one of the country’s most prominent youth organizations.
At the age of 17, he took on a different kind of challenge. He launched SignLang, a startup built in collaboration with the Deaf People’s Union of Armenia to deliver live, caption-based sign language translation for mobile devices. For two years, Alex led a team of fellow teenagers, aged 17 to 21, through the build. Parallel to these, he went on to work as an ethical hacker during university, served as an AI researcher, took a software engineering role at Adobe, and founded several startups that ultimately failed, before founding The Monica Studios.
For him, failures were never meant to stop his passion; rather it fueled his passion to keep building. Today, The Monica Studios stands as a reflection of Alexander Aramyan’s strong vision and determination to turn every setback into impactful results.
Sandeep Virdee | Building Businesses Around Curiosity, Longevity, and What Comes Next

Sandeep Virdee has spent over 25 years building businesses by identifying opportunities that others often overlook. A British entrepreneur now based in the UAE, his career has taken him across different industries and markets, shaped less by following established formulas and more by questioning why things are done the way they are.
That curiosity has increasingly drawn him toward longevity, healthspan and the science of ageing. For Virdee, the subject is not simply about living longer, but about maintaining energy, function, and quality of life for as long as possible — an outlook inspired, in no small part, by his wife, a biochemist, and his children.
His latest venture, NAD+OLOGY, grew from that interest. The Dubai-based brand explores how longevity science can be brought into everyday personal care, built around ingredients such as NAD+ and an advanced peptide complex.
But NAD+OLOGY is only one part of Virdee’s story. His career has been defined by moving into unfamiliar territory, learning quickly, taking calculated risks and accepting that failure is often part of building something worthwhile.
“Most of my businesses have started with the same question: why isn’t anyone doing this differently?” says Virdee. “Occasionally the answer turns out to be ‘for very good reasons’ — but every so often you find a genuine gap, and that’s where it gets interesting.”
Today, that thinking is focused on health, longevity and the small decisions that compound over time. Virdee believes better health doesn’t need to revolve around extremes, but around consistent habits and better information.
As he continues developing NAD+OLOGY and exploring the wider longevity space, his approach remains the same as it has throughout his career: stay curious, identify the gap, and build where others have not yet looked.
Ahmed Basha | Bridging Technology and Talent Across the Middle East

In today’s modern business landscape, where technology is rapidly evolving, agile workplace training and organizational enablement have become vital drivers of sustainable growth. Ahmed Basha has spent nearly two decades transforming technical know-how into robust enterprise capability. Currently serving as the Head of INTRO Tech Academy, he leads the training and workforce-development arm of INTRO Technology, driving strategic enablement across Egypt, North Africa, and the Middle East.
With a solid engineering background, including a bachelor’s degree in electrical power engineering from Helwan University, Basha began his career as a tendering and HVAC design engineer in Egypt, followed by on-site engineering for substation installations in Libya. In 2007, he transitioned into learning and organizational development, joining Invensys in Cairo as an Instructional Designer to build a technical curriculum for engineering teams globally.
That pivot defined the trajectory of his career for the next fifteen years. A strategic assignment as Learning Consultant in Lake Forest, California, saw him partner with engineering leaders across the Americas on workforce development solutions that generated multi-million-dollar repeat business. Returning to Cairo as Learning Project Manager and later as Manager of Learning Solutions and Services, a role that bridged Invensys’s acquisition by Schneider Electric, he built a multi-million-dollar technical training operation, led a team of more than 20 alongside a global vendor network, and established a scalable virtual delivery capability connecting worldwide clients from Egypt.
In parallel, Basha architected technical onboarding programs for process automation engineers and directed their rollout across Schneider’s global engineering organizations to accelerate new-hire readiness. This work earned him the global “Schneider Is On” Silver Trophy for Learning Digitization in 2016. He complemented his practical leadership with an MBA in Global Management from ESLSCA Business School, adding broader commercial acumen to his engineering foundation.
That strategic blend shaped his subsequent role as Global Manager of Commercial Operations and Offer Promotion at Schneider Electric. There, Basha transitioned learning delivery into a profitable business line; steering the Industry Services Academy to triple topline growth, doubling average order value, and designing a Global Opportunity Management System that lifted bid response times and conversion rates across more than 20 countries. He also instituted a specialized training-distributor partnership model for high-growth markets and directed the digital ecosystem that accelerated commercial performance.
Since February 2026, Basha has headed the INTRO Tech Academy, leading a unified framework built on four core pillars: technical content development, scalable client and employee enablement, commercial learning solutions, and strategic academic-industry partnerships. Under this mandate, he oversees group-wide workforce enablement across INTRO Technology subsidiaries; Advansys Intelligent Solutions (AIS) and Advansys ESC (AESC), alongside dedicated OEM training, enterprise customer upskilling, and youth development programs for engineering talent.
The Academy’s community and institutional track actively partners with leading universities and technical institutions across Egypt and the MENA region. Through specialized technology tracks, hands-on internships, and graduation-project mentorship, the Academy bridges academic theory and real-world execution, preparing the next generation of regional engineers.
Across every phase of his career, Ahmed Basha’s core focus has remained clear: translating complex engineering expertise into scalable, institutional capability that powers modern enterprise transformation.

Daniel A. MacKenzie | Leadership with a Global Impact

In today’s tech-driven, transactionally prioritized business world, where success is measured by adaptability to advancements, leaders like Daniel A. MacKenzie believe a human-focused connection remains a vital pillar and ingredient for blended success. Starting his career in early cable and satellite television content distribution and marketing, Daniel brings decades of experience working with major entertainment brands in operations and network distribution. With an international perspective and as part of a pioneering generation at the forefront of the integration of technology, he brings a global vision across his roles.
As the Founder and CEO of GENALYTIX, Daniel has built a brand dedicated to building value across high-impact sectors, spanning health-inspired food production to sustainable energy solutions, with a stated priority of co-authorship and accountability that encourages the power of collaboration, ensuring that everyone crosses the finish line together. In university lectures and his keynote presentations, he focuses his audience on being ‘Stronger Together’ and often relates to the requirements of leadership and successful outcomes by referring to a jigsaw puzzle as the metaphor, where every piece has a specific, defined individual value, yet contributes to the overall collective result; with the objective, in the end, of looking like the cover on the box. He implemented early co-authorship and team-based lessons in his extensive work overseas as an EXPAT in class-based, consensus-driven cultures, working with foreign government owned media assets and his international staff, using an evening at cooking school to teach the value of active listening and relying on others. He suggests that the lesson empowers thought leadership and idea expression in a safe environment. In the end, everyone has to sit down at the same table, next to their colleagues, and eat the same meal, and salt looks a lot like sugar if you are not paying attention.
His extensive education includes his coursework at Harvard University in Negotiation and Conflict Management, which continues to reinforce the importance of designing a management platform formatted to teach and create the process and discipline of arriving at a mutually beneficial balance of interests and impactful sustainable outcomes, which he integrated directly into the management curriculum upon his return to Europe. With a strategic vision and an inclusive approach, he blends economic viability with sustainable development for long-term business growth. His core values correlate with being human-focused, climate-conscious, environmentally aware, academically integrated, and community-connected.
Parallel to leading GENALYTIX, Daniel has served on numerous boards, including the former economic and financial oversight of a university’s budget and endowment and as a member of the Foundation Board of Directors for his Alma Mater. His past board contribution for a technology company in the Research Triangle in Raleigh, North Carolina, led to its successful admission, for two consecutive years, to the INC 5000, an elite list of America’s fastest growing and most successfully run companies.
Recognized for exceptional expertise in strategic marketing and communication planning, he is frequently asked to share his insights at global conferences. Daniel is also a registered Expert Witness, with a focus on identifying and resolving internal corporate conflict.
Daniel is involved at the leading edge in Agri-tech, global and sustainably produced television content for families, interoperable healthcare solutions, and vital legacy management for families around the world, all powered by an integrated AI platform partnership. Beyond his professional endeavours, he is the author of “The Prosperity Pendulum: A Survival Guide for Playing Chess with the Universe,” scheduled to be published in Q4/2027.
As a leader who sets expectations by example, he believes that making progress also requires the responsibility of making a difference in the lives of others. Daniel A. MacKenzie is reshaping how effective leadership and the outcomes it produces represent a shared opportunity and obligation – not limited solely to business growth but to expanding and improving efficient and fair outcomes.
One of Daniel’s favorite quotes on leadership reinforces his belief that “consensus thrives in the absence of leadership and does not work efficiently. It works eventually, and usually, eventually is too late.”
Digital Lady Designer’s Journey to Creating Strong Digital Brand Presence through Human-Centered Innovation

In today’s business world, a powerful digital presence is essential for success. Alla Postulga stands out by approaching digital presence differently—combining creativity, strategic thinking, and innovation to help brands establish a distinctive identity in the digital space.
Bringing unmatched expertise across UX/UI design, product strategy, branding, digital marketing, business development, and AI-driven digital transformation, she empowers businesses to turn their unique identity into a meaningful digital presence. With a multidisciplinary professional background, Alla Postulga, whose personal brand is “Digital Lady Designer,” uniquely helps people express who they truly are in the digital world—transforming their talents, expertise, and individuality into distinctive personal brands and meaningful digital presence.
As a Brand Architect, Digital Product Designer, Founder and CEO of Digital Design Brand Agency LLC, and Creative Director of TGT Nobel Academy, Alla develops creative and strategic solutions that help professionals, experts, founders, and businesses discover what makes them unique and transform that uniqueness into a distinctive brand and meaningful digital presence. She is also the visionary behind the Next Generation Digital Presence Collective, a global professional community that brings together experts, entrepreneurs, founders, and industry leaders across diverse fields through creativity, innovation, strategic collaboration, and authentic human connection.
Recently, Digital Lady Designer has expanded her presence into the UAE, marking a natural evolution of Alla’s professional journey, which began in the United States. Through her work in brand architecture, digital design, digital marketing, strategic digital presence, and digital experiences, she has provided services to professionals and businesses across different industries and discovered particularly strong demand for her expertise within the real estate sector. Her growing desire to better understand the real estate industry, combined with her aspiration to work with investment-focused, luxury, and ultra-luxury projects, inspired her to explore the industry from within rather than solely through the perspective of branding, design, and marketing.
She began expanding her knowledge of real estate in the United States by completing a real estate course, which helped her gain a better understanding of the industry, its structure, and the fundamental principles of the real estate market. As her knowledge developed, she discovered a particular interest in real estate investment, luxury and ultra-luxury properties, and the lifestyle surrounding this market. This interest gradually opened a new professional direction for Alla, naturally connecting her established creative and strategic expertise with her growing interest in real estate and investment.
Her professional journey later brought her to Dubai, where she had the opportunity to join a real estate agency and immerse herself more deeply in the Dubai real estate investment market. Through practical training and direct exposure to the industry, she has been developing a deeper understanding of real estate investment strategies, market and project analysis, and luxury and ultra-luxury developments that have long inspired her both creatively and professionally. Being closer to these projects has allowed her to understand them not only from the perspective of branding, design, and marketing, but also through their investment potential, market positioning, and investment strategies.
This experience helped Alla recognize an opportunity to bring together two complementary areas of expertise: her established background in brand architecture, digital design, digital marketing, and strategic digital presence with her growing knowledge of Dubai real estate and real estate investment. Her desire to professionally showcase, communicate, and market investment-focused, luxury, and ultra-luxury real estate projects through digital media and social platforms inspired the next stage of her entrepreneurial journey in the UAE.
Alla further expanded her presence in the UAE by establishing TGT Nobel Marketing Management, bringing together her expertise in strategic marketing and digital presence with her growing focus on real estate investment and the luxury and ultra-luxury market.
With human-centered innovation at the heart of her work, Alla combines brand strategy, design, digital marketing, AI, and emerging technologies to help her clients communicate their expertise, strengthen their visibility, establish a powerful and authentic presence in the digital world, and connect meaningfully with the audiences they are meant to serve.
Recognizing her contributions to design, branding, and strategic digital presence, Alla has received multiple international awards, nominations, and recognitions. Her distinctions include being named among the “Top 20 Inspirational Women to Look Out For in 2026,” “Top 10 Trailblazing Entrepreneurs to Follow in 2026.” She is also an Evergreen Award Winner 2026, a Best of Best Review 2026 recipient for “Best in Strategic Digital Presence and Brand Architecture in the USA of 2026,” a recipient of the Quality Mark Business Excellence recognition, an IAPO Business Awards Nominee 2026. Digital Lady Designer’s distinctions reflect her growing international recognition and her commitment to helping professionals and businesses build unique brands and establish a meaningful digital presence.
Throughout her career, Alla’s mission has remained deeply rooted in one belief: every person possesses unique talents, expertise, and experiences that deserve to be discovered, strategically positioned, and shared with the world. Her mission is to help professionals, experts, founders, and businesses transform that uniqueness into distinctive, recognizable brands and establish a meaningful digital presence. Working at the intersection of strategy, identity, creativity, technology, and human-centered digital experiences, Digital Lady Designer strives to create brands that not only stand out in the digital world, but authentically reflect the people, expertise, and purpose behind them.

David Wortley | Re-examining Our Relationship with Technology in the Age of AI

David Wortley FRSA is a motivational speaker, storyteller, futurist, author, entrepreneur and digital technology pioneer whose career has spanned more than five decades. His work has taken him across six continents, exploring how emerging technologies can influence business, education, healthcare and everyday life. Today, he is also Vice President of the International Society of Digital Medicine, Founder and CEO of 360in360 Immersive Experiences, and an experienced business mentor and thought leader. Yet, among his many areas of work, one project is now taking centre stage: the relaunch of his book Gadgets to God, originally written in 2011.
The book is returning at a very different moment. When David first wrote it, artificial intelligence was nowhere near the public conversation it occupies today. He was already observing how quickly people were becoming dependent on their devices and how technology was beginning to influence the way people communicated, worked and lived. The book explored these changes through a deeply personal and autobiographical journey, looking at more than 50 years of technological development and asking what happens when technology becomes too deeply embedded in everyday life.
David’s professional journey gives him a particularly broad perspective on these questions. He has worked with immersive technologies, gamification, wearable health technology, digital twins and digital learning, while also advising organisations on the practical use and commercialisation of emerging technologies. He was a founding director of the Serious Games Institute and has served as an expert adviser to the European Commission. His work has also taken him into areas such as healthy ageing and lifestyle medicine, where technology can play an important role without losing sight of the individual behind the technology.
What distinguishes David’s approach is that he is interested not only in what technology can do, but in what it does to us. His work often sits at the intersection of innovation and human potential, examining how technology can support better health, learning, business and quality of life while still preserving human connection and choice. As AI becomes increasingly present in everyday life, these questions have become even more relevant. David’s perspective comes from decades of watching technological change unfold rather than from simply observing the current AI moment.
The relaunch of Gadgets to God therefore represents more than the return of an old book. It gives David an opportunity to revisit questions he was asking 15 years ago and place them against the realities of today’s AI-driven world. His central message remains highly relevant: technology should not simply make us faster or more connected; it should ultimately help us live better and remain human. As the conversation around AI continues to grow, David Wortley is bringing his experience, storytelling and long-term perspective back into that conversation.

Anyce Nedir’s Journey to Shaping Modern Advertising through Vision and Impact

Anyce Nedir spent nearly two decades running the machine he is now rebuilding.
He led some of advertising’s most demanding rooms. His career began at CLM BBDO and Young & Rubicam in Paris, followed by a decade at BETC on Air France, Peugeot, Citroën and Disneyland. In Dubai, he moved into agency leadership roles, working with brands from adidas, Google, Riot Games and TikTok to Bvlgari and Cartier. Along the way, his campaigns earned five Cannes Lions.
Those years taught him exactly what clients need, what agencies do well, and exactly where the model breaks. That is why he crossed over.
As Founding Systems and Ops Lead at Needle, an AI-native company building a marketing operating system for e-commerce brands, he designs the architecture that connects strategy, creative generation, deployment and performance into one closed loop, so every campaign a brand runs makes the next one measurably smarter.
His conviction runs against the current of the AI moment: output is cheap, learning is the moat. Most AI tools generate; very few remember. Needle creates ads that learn.
Designed for brands that already understand growth is a learning game, not a volume game, Needle is the AI-native alternative to the traditional digital agency for brands selling online. The system learns what works for each brand, campaign by campaign, and compounds those learnings into sharper strategy. With DTC brands across Southeast Asia and the Gulf running on Needle, the platform is fast becoming a trusted name in AI-driven growth.
Based in Dubai, Anyce writes and speaks on applied AI for commerce and marketing across the GCC and beyond. Turning complexity into clarity has been the constant of his career, and his belief has not changed: “Empower people, not just processes.”
The machine he spent two decades mastering is being rebuilt. This time, it learns.
Conclusion
Across finance, travel, technology, wellness, and design, the leaders featured in this edition share very little in the way of industry or background. What connects them is a refusal to stand still, a willingness to question convention and build their own answer to the problems they saw.
As 2026 continues to reshape how businesses operate and compete, these are the names worth watching—proof that meaningful leadership can take many different forms, as long as it’s built with clarity, curiosity, and conviction.
