The Pakistani PM Visits MWL and Commends the Efforts to Show Solidarity

RIYADH: According to a Tuesday Saudi Press Agency report, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation paid a visit to the Muslim World League headquarters in Makkah. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the leader of the Organization of Muslim Scholars and secretary-general of the league, welcomed them. Sharif praised the MWL’s endeavors to promote Muslim unity, bring together the opinions of Muslim academics, and spread the authentic word of Islam.

In order to attend the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, which took place on Monday, Sharif and his delegation traveled to the Kingdom. Pakistan is strongly in support of Palestine’s right to self-determination as an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 boundaries, Sharif stressed in his speech at the summit. He emphasized that this is the only way to guarantee justice, bring about peace, and protect the sacred areas.

The prime minister of Pakistan called for a halt to the escalation of violence against Palestine and Lebanon and denounced all of Israel’s abuses against both countries, reaffirming Pakistan’s sympathy with their people. In addition, he called for the lifting of the siege on Gaza and the guarantee of access to electricity, food, water, and medical assistance. Israel must be held responsible for its crimes and adhere to UN resolutions, the prime minister emphasized.
