Specialized Financial Solutions for Ultra-High-Net-Worth Entrepreneurs: Rickson Dsouza as the Founder of Successio Global

Rickson Dsouza

A seasoned Life Insurance Advisor, Rickson Dsouza, is the Founder of Successio Global, a financial consulting and coaching group, dedicated to offering comprehensive Life Insurance coverage for individuals, and businesses alike.

Specialized in helping Ultra-High-Net-Worth entrepreneurs structure their succession plans, alongside offering career advancement coaching for financial advisors, Rickson is building a lasting legacy.

Starting from humble beginnings selling Life Insurance door-to-door to managing US$1 Billion of life cover for their elite client base today, Rickson’s journey inspires aspiring leaders and advisors in the field.

Early Life and Educational Background

Born in Oman in 1978, Rickson Dsouza’s early life was filled with experiments and trials as he sought his path. Completing his early schooling at Indian High School in Dubai, Rickson later moved to Bangalore to study at St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Relations, Economics, and Sociology.

Eventually, after returning to Dubai, Rickson Dsouza joined a Life Insurance company and recalls the challenging start of his professional journey, “I spent my days cold-calling and pitching life insurance, even though it was a terrible pitch, and earned me almost nothing.

After almost six months, Rickson finally closed a deal, marking the first milestone on his career path.

Successio Global: On Serving A Specialized Niche

Rickson Dsouza currently runs Successio Global, a firm that specializes in the Life Insurance piece of succession planning.

With a core clientele of high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) entrepreneurs, the firm has carved out a unique and highly-specialized niche for itself.

Rickson Dsouza reflects, “After noticing a lack of specialization in the market for the segment, I came up with a strategic move to only serve high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.” While it is a common case for other companies in this field to have a “whale” client in the HNW and UHNW space, Rickson decided to take a different path: Making the whale their priority and only client, and catering to their unique challenges.

What Defines a Successful Leader: Insights from Rickson Dsouza

To successfully lead a business, Rickson Dsouza credits endurance and specialized services. “A good leader needs endurance,” he shares. Newcomers quitting after a year or two is not a rare case, but with the right efforts and perseverance, leaders can sustain their businesses effectively.

Rickson Dsouza further emphasizes finding the niche and becoming a true expert in that space.

People often find themselves wanting to make big profits but operating in a “one-man army” concept that rarely succeeds. Based on a core business concept from his long-term business coaching program, Strategic Coach, Rickson has built a “Unique Ability”-based team at Successio Global – hiring and building a team of experts who operate strictly within their areas of strength and genius.

Embracing to Digital Revolution: Impact on Successio Global

Speaking of his organization’s adaptability to the digital revolution and integrated tech-driven innovations into its operations, Rickson reflects that AI tools, like ChatGPT have become an integral part of their work process.

Being active on different social media platforms is not just a strategic move for expanding its brand presence; rather, Successio Global takes a step ahead by educating the market and has even created a library of digital articles, videos and case studies.

As is true for most industries, the COVID-19 pandemic was a period of huge transition for the Life Insurance sector, too. The industry shifted from physical paperwork to digital solutions. Reflecting on the transformation in his field, Rickson comments, “Insurers these days are more tech-savvy and AI-enabled, and that’s been a true game-changer.”

Words of Wisdom for Beginners

Addressing aspiring professionals in his field, Rickson shares, “To anyone just starting out, be patient. Study continuously, get qualified, and do all the tasks yourself initially so that you eventually understand them well enough to delegate. Be an expert at your craft and build a team around you to handle the rest.”

He further suggests that growth-minded professionals seek coaching and support rather than playing small or staying in their comfort zone for too long.
