Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, left for New York on Friday to lead the Kingdom’s delegation at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation includes several key figures: Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the US; Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, minister of state for foreign affairs and climate envoy; Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, minister of economy and planning; Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, who heads KS Relief, the Kingdom’s humanitarian aid agency; Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, deputy minister for multilateral affairs and public diplomacy; and Abdulaziz Alwasil, Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to the UN.
During the high-level week of UNGA80, Saudi Arabia will host several important initiatives and meetings. These will focus on strengthening regional and global security, humanitarian support, development goals, and broader diplomatic cooperation.
One of the highlights will be Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in chairing the high-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and advancing the two-state solution. In addition, the Kingdom will chair a ministerial-level meeting of the Global Alliance for implementing the two-state solution.
