LONDON: Amid the US-Israel war on Iran, antisemitic occurrences in the UK increased by 21% in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period the previous year, according to a Jewish organization on Wednesday. These attacks target British Jews, but they also target Britain and our society,” stated Mark Gardner, CEO of the Community Security Trust (CST).
Between January and June, the organization documented 1,926 instances of anti-Semitic hate crimes, including assaults, arson attacks, and the stabbing of two Jewish men in late April in Golders Green, a London area with a sizable Jewish community.
According to the CST, “this is the second-highest total ever reported” during the first half of any year. The numbers contrasted with 1,598 instances that were reported during the first half of 2025. According to the charity, daily antisemitic insults and abuse increased as a result of the Golders Green stabbing.
In the three days after the stabbing, it documented 71 events, 16 of which mentioned the attack specifically. According to the CST, “some incidents used the incident to promote antisemitic conspiracy theories and anti-Jewish abuse, or celebrated the violence and called for further injuries to Jewish people.”
