Soundstorm’s Global Collaborations: A New Era for Saudi Music

RIYADH: MDLBEAST’s annual music festival, Soundstorm 2025, which runs through December 13, is centered on sustainability and the expansion of Saudi Arabia’s creative economy. Ramadan Alharatani, the CEO of MDLBEAST, stated in an exclusive interview with Arab News that the festival aimed to create long-term economic and social value in addition to enjoyment.

Soundstorm plays a major role in the creative economy by creating jobs, attracting international talent, and giving local artists real opportunities to perform on a large stage,” he stated. Additionally, we are funding long-term initiatives that assist production, training, and artistic growth after the festival weekend.

We are concentrating more on sustainability and accessibility this year. We are implementing improved recycling and energy-use systems, enhancing transit options, and simplifying the website. We aim to create environments and experiences that engage diverse audiences, as inclusion is a top priority. Alharatani stated, “We are continuing to build on programs that help new talent grow,” referring to the festival’s role in fostering emerging talent.

We are providing young artists with greater access to mentorship, training, and performance chances through XP Music Futures, our year-round programs under the MDLBEAST Foundation, and collaborations with local and international labels.
