Trump Still Looks at Turkiye Jet Deal Despite Israel’s Concerns

Palm Beach, USA: During a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vehemently opposes the plan, US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that he was considering selling Turkiye top-tier F-35 fighter jets.

When asked about an F-35 purchase for Turkiye at his meeting with Netanyahu at the US leader’s Florida resort, Trump responded, “We’re thinking about it very seriously. In 2019, after the NATO ally proceeded with purchasing missile defense from Russia, the United States barred Turkiye from developing the F-35, a top-tier stealth aircraft.

Despite the seasoned Islamist leader’s vehement criticism of Israel’s catastrophic offensive in Gaza, Trump maintains cordial ties with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. F-35s, according to Israeli planners, would help Turkiye in a future conflict. Syria is a neighbor of both Israel and Turkey, and the two countries are at odds over the war-torn country.

When questioned about the possibility of war between Israel and Turkey, Trump referred to Erdogan as “a very good friend.” Regarding Israel and Turkey, Trump declared, “We’re not going to have a problem. There won’t be any events.
