Israel Says One Dead After Forces Fire on Stone-Throwers in West Bank

NABLUS: According to the Palestinian Authority’s WAFA news agency, a Palestinian man was murdered and another was injured on Thursday in the village of Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus.

Khattab Mohammed Ismail Al-Sarhan Daraghmeh, 26, was shot and killed by Israeli forces earlier that morning, according to the local council. The Ministry of Health was notified of Daraghmeh’s passing by the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority, which also mentioned that Israeli officials were withholding his body.

Daraghmeh was shot close to the village’s southern entrance, according to local sources, while another young man was hurt but was deemed stable and sent to Salfit Governmental Hospital for treatment. According to the WAFA news agency, Israeli forces blocked multiple subsidiary routes and shuttered the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya’s main entrance on Wednesday.

According to the UN, over 1,000 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank between October 2023 and October 2025, primarily as a result of security force operations and occasionally as a result of settler violence. 57 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks during that time. Two Palestinian villas east of Jericho were destroyed by Israeli soldiers on Thursday, while a third was given a demolition order.
