Iran Protests Death Toll Surpasses 500: What Rights Groups Are Reporting

DUBAI/JERUSALEM: More than 500 people have died in Iranian unrest, according to a rights group on Sunday. Tehran has warned to attack US military installations if President Donald Trump follows through on vows to step in on behalf of demonstrators. Trump has frequently threatened to step in if force is used against protestors amid the largest protests against the Islamic Republic’s clerical establishment since 2022.

The US-based rights organization HRANA claimed to have confirmed the deaths of 490 demonstrators and 48 security personnel, as well as the detention of over 10,600 people, according to its most recent spreadsheet based on activists both inside and outside Iran.
