RAF Typhoon Jets to Defend Bahrain: What Keir Starmer Told King Hamad

LONDON: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer informed Bahrain’s monarch that the four aircraft the UK is sending to Qatar could be used to protect the kingdom against Iranian drone and missile attacks on Gulf states. According to a readout from Starmer’s office on Friday, “The Prime Minister also offered further defensive air cover from these jets for Bahrain to bolster their security,” Starmer informed King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in a call late on Thursday.

The affirmation was appreciated by His Majesty, and they decided that operational teams would collaborate on preparations over the next few days. The RAF fighter jets will fly over Bahrain as part of the UK’s efforts to “defend” the country, according to the British ambassador to Bahrain.

Ambassador Alastair Long declared, “Today, I’m delighted to tell people that the UK will be flying RAF jets above Bahrain as a contribution to the defense of Bahrain, one of our closest allies in the world.

The fact that the UK is helping to defend Bahrain and ensure that it wins this horrific attack by Iran is extremely important to us. In response to demands for additional assistance from allies, Starmer announced on Thursday that he was sending four more RAF Typhoon jets to Qatar.
