Qatar has declared that starting on Sunday, June 7, 2026, it would no longer extend entry visas that have expired or are about to expire. This follows a prior decision to extend these visas made in March when airspace was blocked because of the Iran War.
The Qatari Ministry of Interior’s initial press statement from March 3 said that entry permits will be extended starting on February 28 due to airspace constraints that prevented tourists from leaving the nation. According to the announcement, this decision may be extended based on the situation.
As of June 7, the system would once again adhere to “approved procedures and guidelines for all types of entry visas, including the specified validity periods and fees for each type.” Residents, tourists, and other pertinent parties are asked by the Ministry of Interior to confirm their legal status and adhere to any required visa renewals. When their visa expires, the person must depart the country if all required costs are not paid within the allotted time. If this isn’t done, there will be consequences for staying longer than is allowed in Qatar.
