More than a third of organizations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia have already implemented agentic AI, a new generation of AI that can make decisions and carry out tasks on its own, in real-world business settings, making them among the world’s most advanced adopters of the technology.
The Gulf is among the world leaders in turning AI ambition into operational reality, with 38% of organizations in both nations having agentic AI solutions in production, according to Confluent’s 2026 Data Streaming Report. Agentic AI can analyze data, make decisions, and carry out activities with little assistance from humans, in contrast to typical AI systems that are mainly concerned with answering queries or producing content.
An agentic AI system, for instance, may search for flights, compare rates, make reservations, update calendars, and complete transactions automatically depending on user instructions, whereas a traditional AI assistant might suggest travel possibilities.According to the research, which is based on a survey of 4,625 IT leaders globally, Gulf businesses are quickly advancing from pilot projects and experimentation to the widespread use of AI systems that can handle more complicated business procedures on their own.
The high adoption rates are consistent with both nations’ larger digital goals. Through its National AI Strategy and an expanding network of AI-focused institutions, the UAE has made significant investments in AI, while Saudi Arabia is continuing to boost investment under Vision 2030 as part of its efforts to create a diverse, technology-driven economy.
