After the two nations decided to progressively increase bilateral air traffic rights over the next five years, travelers between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt will have additional flight alternatives. In addition to strengthening tourism, investment, and economic relations between the two nations, the phased agreement is meant to address the rising demand for passenger travel and open up new prospects for airlines. On the fringes of Cairo’s 11th ICAO AFI Week, the agreement was struck.
Captain Sameh Fawzy, President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), and Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), signed the agreement. In response to rising demand for air travel and passenger movement, it establishes a phased framework for the steady growth of air services between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt over the next five years.
This understanding reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt and demonstrates our shared vision to strengthen regional air connectivity,” stated Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of the General Civil Aviation Authority.
