Riyadh Air Celebrates First Cohort of Saudi Women Aircraft Engineers

JEDDAH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, Riyadh Air has commemorated the graduation of its first cohort of Saudi women aircraft maintenance engineers, marking a significant milestone in efforts to cultivate national talent in a crucial technical field.

26 women completed the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma program at the ceremony, which took place at the airline’s headquarters in front of senior executives and the graduates’ families. In collaboration with Colleges of Excellence and the International Technical College, Riyadh Air initiated the program. It seeks to give Saudi women the technical know-how required to work in airplane repair in accordance with international standards.

Additionally, the program helps Saudi Arabia’s aviation industry become more competitive by fostering the development of a sophisticated national aircraft repair ecosystem. The graduates had finished an advanced technical curriculum built on the highest international standards, according to Nahar Al-Juhani, senior vise president of talent acquisition and business partners at Riyadh Air. He continued, “Investing in domestic talent is still essential to Riyadh Air’s growth and supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals to establish the Kingdom as a leading global aviation hub.
