RIYADH: On behalf of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Minister of official Prince Turki bin Mohammed attended Norway’s King Harald V’s official burial in Oslo on Wednesday. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the prince, who is also a member of the Kingdom’s Council of Ministers, sent King Haakon VIII of Norway the sympathies of the Saudi leadership on his father’s passing.

Prince Turki attended the funeral service in Oslo Cathedral alongside royalty, leaders of state, and other international dignitaries. King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan, Prince William of the United Kingdom, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, and the kings of Sweden, Denmark, Spain, and the Netherlands were among the foreign dignitaries.

After ruling Norway for 35 years, King Harald passed away on August 28 at the age of 89. As his coffin made its way from the Royal Palace to the church in procession, tens of thousands of mourners lined Oslo’s streets. He was buried in the vault of the Palace Chapel in Akershus Fortress after the burial service, ending a 13-day period of national grief.
