It’s New York: On Monday, the Muslim World League reiterated its support for a two-state solution that includes the creation of a Palestinian state that is both independent and sovereign, and it demanded the immediate evacuation of all Gazan people.
At the yearly high-level gathering of the UN Alliance of Civilisations in New York City, Abdulwahab bin Mohammed Al-Shahri, the league’s Assistant Secretary-General for International Communication and Cooperation, delivered the remarks.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, was represented by Al-Shahri, who laid out the organization’s stance on several global matters, the most important of which being the Palestinian cause.
He emphasised the importance of education, interfaith conversation, and the promotion of peaceful societies, and he emphasised the necessity to shift the focus of dialogue from abstract ideas to practical steps and fruitful collaborations.
While reiterating the Palestinian people’s entitlement to their justifiable rights, including, most importantly, the creation of a Palestinian state that is both autonomous and self-governing, Al-Shahri pleaded for the swift rescue of Gazan residents and an end to their agony. He said the only way to create a fair, long-lasting peace in the region was to implement the two-state option in line with applicable international resolutions.
