As Dubai Investigates New Educational Models, Sheikh Hamdan Emphasises The Need to Innovate Education

According to KHDA chief Aisha Miran, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has consistently emphasised the need for “innovation” in schools, indicating that children in Dubai should not be educated in the same manner as past generations.

As the emirate investigates new school models and ways to reshape education for future generations, the chief of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) claims that Sheikh Hamdan’s message has become a recurrent subject in conversations around the emirate’s education plan.

The KHDA chief stated, “He thinks we should innovate in education,” clarifying that the leadership of the emirate does not want the next generation to merely inherit the same educational paradigm. The remarks coincide with Dubai’s examination of alternate educational strategies, such as cutting-edge models that might provide families with alternative means of obtaining education.

According to the KHDA, the emirate has already authorised a novel licensing policy and is investigating the conditions necessary for such models to function.”We always say that Dubai is a test bed for any kind of innovation,” she stated, adding that the emirate was willing to try out various strategies. We embrace innovation of any form, including the Alpha model, which delivers essential academics in a focused portion of the school day through personalised, AI-supported mastery learning.
