Gaza Humanitarian Crisis: UNICEF Reports 300 Children Killed in 300 Days

NEW YORK, “At least 300 children have been killed in Gaza over the past 300 days, an average of one a day as civilians in the territory continue to face intense military strikes including shelling, gunfire and naval fire, the UN Children’s Fund said Thursday.

Hundreds of other youngsters were also harmed over the same period, the foundation said. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said children in Gaza continue to face harsh conditions including crowded shelters and limited access to adequate water and health care.

Settler attacks and Israeli military operations in the West Bank are continuing to affect Palestinian homes and livelihoods,” OCHA said. Israeli settlers reportedly torched homes overnight in the Palestinian town of Tuba, in the Masafer Yatta neighbourhood of Hebron, displacing three families, including 14 children who fled to relatives or neighbors for safety. OCHA reported several individuals were hurt, including two children, while a solar power system and 10 tons of animal feed, as well as other property, were damaged.
