The Orders Of the DIFC Courts Can Now be Verified Anywhere in the World in a Matter of Seconds

The Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) Courts have initiated the issuance of court documents that can be verified within seconds by recipients worldwide using blockchain-based credentials. A distinctive, nontransferable digital authenticity credential is now associated with court orders and hearing records. It enables banks, government authorities, courts, and counterparties to quickly verify that the DIFC Courts issued a document, reducing the authentication delays often associated with this process.

The Avalanche C-Chain, Avalanche’s public blockchain, is the location where the cryptographic fingerprint of the digital file is associated with a unique NFT-based credential when the DIFC Courts issues an order or hearing record. Recipients verify documents against the credential. Any modification to the file causes verification to fail.

The blockchain does not retain the document itself, and it does not record any document content or confidential case information. Justice Omar Al Mheiri, the director of DIFC Courts, stated that a court document’s authenticity should not depend on geography. We are extending trusted digital infrastructure beyond the physical boundaries of the Court by allowing a recipient to independently verify the source and integrity of a document within seconds.
