The Envoy of Saudi Arabia Honors the "Epic Story" of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Japan, expressed his gratitude for having the opportunity to represent his country at this week’s peace memorial events in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which memorialize the atomic bombs that fell on both cities 79 years ago.

“Being there at the ceremonies was an honor and a privilege. I’m impressed by how both towns transformed a horrific historical incident involving the destruction of two cities and the deaths of countless people into a powerful statement of peace and hope for all people, Binzagr told Arab News Japan.

Binzagr emphasized that eradicating weapons of mass devastation requires global responsibility. He declared, “We must not forget the horrors of these weapons, and we must all work together to eradicate them from the planet without any justifications or exceptions.”

The accounts of loss and suffering told by the survivors profoundly affected Saudi Ambassador Binzagr on his visit to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He claimed that their tenacity is a potent illustration of both the value of reflecting on the past and the resiliency of the human spirit.
