Monday was another stressful day in Saudi Arabia because Houthi attacks kept stopping flights and making people worried about security across the Kingdom. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) said that Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport would be closed until October 17.
New reports came in that day of missiles and drones heading toward Saudi Arabia. There were also multiple explosions heard in Riyadh, and a ballistic missile was blocked by a coalition led by Saudi Arabia. Later, Saudi Civil Defence said that the city was no longer in danger.
Cirium data shows that nearly half of Saudi Arabia’s scheduled departures were cancelled on Monday because of flight problems. At the same time, Britain put sanctions on two Iranian citizens and called Iran’s ambassador to discuss a possible plot to attack RAF Fairford. The US, UK, and other allies warned Tehran about threats on their own countries.
Following a report that it had shot down a missile over the capital, Riyadh’s international airport was the target of an attack on Monday by the Houthis, who are backed by Iran. This evening, our military was able to use a ballistic missile to hit King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the city of our enemy Saudi Arabia. The hit was accurate, according to Yahya Saree, a spokesman for the Houthi military. He also said that the group used a drone to attack the Khamis Mushait base in the south of the kingdom.
