Saudi Arabia Creates History by Entering Rumy Alqahtani in the Miss Universe Pageant to Represent the Kingdom

This year, Saudi Arabia officially became the first country to compete in the Miss Universe competition, which is scheduled for September 18 in Mexico.

Rumy Alqahtani, 27, announced her entry as the Kingdom’s first-ever participant in the international beauty pageant in an Instagram post.

I am privileged to compete in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant. The model and content producer, born in Riyadh, stated in her post on Monday, “This marks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first participation in the Miss Universe pageant.”

Alqahtani’s entry is in line with Lujane Yacoub of Bahrain, who last year represented her nation in the Miss Universe pageant, making history as the first female from the Gulf to do so.

Her titles include Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021, Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia), and Miss Saudi Arabia. She is fluent in Arabic, French, and English, has a million followers on Instagram, and thousands more on other social networking sites. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in dentistry.
