The FIFA World Cup 2034 proposal from Saudi Arabia has received the best evaluation score in the tournament’s history, 419.8 out of 500, according to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
The news is made in advance of the FIFA World Cup 2030 and 2034 host announcement, which is scheduled for December 11, 2024, during the special FIFA Congress.
FIFA visited Saudi Arabia in October to assess stadiums, facilities, and potential host cities as part of the evaluation process. The proposal reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to achieving Vision 2030’s goals and its citizens’ ambitions.
“Saudi Arabia is a footballing nation with a young population that truly loves the game,” said Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, in response to the findings. This FIFA score demonstrates our dedication to expanding the sport, our quick change, and our aim to hold a world-class competition.
“Vision 2030, which has brought together all sectors to present a proposal that represents the aspirations of the Saudi people and the Kingdom’s leadership, is the driving force behind the bid’s success,” he continued.
