The Saudi Market for Organic Aromatics is Led by Madinah

RIYADH: With 78 tonnes, or 26.4% of the 296 tonnes produced nationwide, Madinah has cemented its status as the Kingdom’s leading producer of organic aromatic plants. According to the Saudi Press Agency, this illustrates the region’s high level of agricultural output and its significant contribution to the production of aromatic and medicinal plants.

According to a recent study by the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, Qassim is the second-largest producer in the country, with 15.9 per cent, followed by Riyadh (14.9 percent) and Jazan (14.7 percent).

According to the SPA, these four areas collectively produce over 72% of the Kingdom’s total production of organic aromatic and medicinal plants. The report’s outline of cultivated areas highlighted strong regional competitiveness in the industry. Madinah led with 37 hectares, followed by Qassim with 36, Riyadh with 35, and Jazan with 34.

According to the SPA, Madinah mint is the most well-known organic aromatic plant in the area and is prized for its potent scent and unique flavour. Its production is strongly connected to the area’s agricultural history and offers appealing investment options for all types of investors.

Moringa, henna, and basil are some of the other fragrant plants that are produced in Madinah. The research also emphasised more general investment prospects in the aromatic plant industry.
