The Saudi Media Ministry Starts a Project to Highlight the Variety of Locals' Lives

RIYADH: To highlight the variety of cultures that inhabit the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media has started a new project. A variety of expatriates expressed their hope to Arab News, with one emphasising the initiative’s importance in “embracing different cultures” in Saudi Arabia. According to the Ministry of Media, the Global Harmony initiative seeks to highlight the varied lives of Kingdom citizens by showcasing their social and recreational activities, work and family lives, economic contributions, success stories, and cultural integration in Saudi society.

It will also showcase initiatives taken by the public and commercial sectors to raise living standards in Saudi cities. The Ministry of Media is organising events during Riyadh Season in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority as part of the plan. Prominent media organisations from the participating nations will attend these events, which will include folkloric, artistic, and cultural performances. Nine distinct cultures—those of India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, and Egypt—will be showcased in a number of activities throughout the 45-day Riyadh Season beginning tomorrow.

Concerts, family-friendly cultural and entertainment events, traditional cuisine, and a variety of handicrafts are all planned. A Palestinian who has lived in Saudi Arabia for almost 20 years, Mohammad Sabbah, summed up his experience there as “a rewarding journey filled with security and stability for me and my family.”
