UK Government Says 6,000 Police are Ready to Put an End to Unrest

6,000 specialized police personnel were prepared to handle far-right rioting that erupted after the murder of three youngsters, sparking a week of bloodshed, the UK government announced on Tuesday.

In Plymouth, southern England, protesters attacked police officers on Monday, throwing bricks and pyrotechnics, injuring several and arresting six people.

As rioters in Belfast, Northern Ireland, tried to set fire to a shop owned by a foreign national, they attacked police.

According to the police, a guy in his 30s was severely beaten during the disturbance, and they are investigating the event as a hate crime with racial motivations.

In the meantime, a group of men assembled in Birmingham, central England, yelling “Free Palestine,” drove a Sky News reporter off air in response to a reported far-right demonstration. Then a man with a knife and balaclava followed her.

Although police said that there had also been instances of criminal damage to a car and a pub, another reporter claimed that he was pursued by the group “with what looked like a weapon.”

Last Tuesday saw the start of the unrest following the murders of three youngsters in a stabbing spree at a dance class in Southport, northwest England, with a Taylor Swift theme.
