Saudi Arabia Calls on the International Community to Hold Israel Responsible For its Serious Abuses of Palestinian Civilians and Sacred Places

RIYADH — On Tuesday, the Saudi Council of Ministers urged the international community to hold the Israeli occupiers responsible for the serious abuses being carried out against Palestinian residents and Islamic holy places. King Salman, the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, presided over the Cabinet meeting in Riyadh.

Following the meeting, Media Minister Salman Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet strongly condemns the continuous Israeli attacks on Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque. Any attempt to change Jerusalem’s legal and historical status was categorically rejected and denounced by the Cabinet.

The Council reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people and called attention to the GCC Ministerial Council’s extraordinary meeting statement, which stressed the importance of a successful ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the need to respect Syria’s independence and sovereignty and to reject foreign meddling in its domestic affairs.

The Cabinet was briefed at the beginning of the meeting on recent discussions the Kingdom had with friendly countries, including the message that Russian President Vladimir Putin had sent to King Salman. The Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to promote cooperation through bilateral relations and its membership in multilateral organizations and groups, as well as all of its endeavors aimed at addressing global challenges, promoting security, and advancing prosperity in the world, were highlighted by the Cabinet during its discussion of regional and international developments.
