NEW DELHI: After Delhi launched missile strikes on Pakistani locations it claimed were connected to the fatal attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir last month, an army spokesperson said on Wednesday that Indian forces are ready to respond to any retribution from Pakistan.
The Indian Armed Forces alleged that “terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed” from nine areas in Pakistan’s heavily populated Punjab region and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where they started “Operation Sindoor” early on Wednesday.
Following an assault on tourists in the resort town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 that claimed 26 lives, including 25 Indians and one Nepali, emotions between the hostile neighbours were already high.”India’s response has shown a great deal of prudence. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, however, stated during a joint briefing by the Indian military and Ministry of External Affairs in the Indian capital, “It must be said that the Indian armed forces are fully prepared to respond to Pakistani misadventures, if any, that will escalate the situation.
In order to provide justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror assault and their families, the Indian military conducted Operation Sindoor.
Without going into further detail, she claimed that Indian soldiers avoided collateral damage to civilians and civilian infrastructure by using missiles with specialised technology and selecting warheads carefully.
