Saudi Arabia Launches Math Competition to Find Its Brightest Young Minds

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has announced a nationwide mathematics competition targeting talented middle and high school students from both private and public schools in Saudi Arabia. Participants will compete for prizes and earn a spot at a prestigious summer math camp, which will be jointly organized by KAUST and the University of Cambridge in the UK next year.

The contest covers major mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and number theory, and is held to international standards, opening pathways to KAUST’s pre-university academic programs. Registration is available online and will stay open until November 9, with a participation fee of 100 SAR.

Preliminary rounds will be held at the eight locations across the Kingdom on December 13 while top scorers will be advance to the final round at KAUST from April 3 to 5, 2026. Winners will receive cash prizes, academic program admissions, and first-place finishers will attend a math camp at Cambridge or Oxford. KAUST covers all costs for finalists including travel and accommodation.
