AlUla: On Thursday, AlUla hosted the Winter at Tantora Festival. It offers a cultural season that honors the area’s rich historical, cultural, and civilizational heritage and lasts until January 10. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the festival’s schedule features a variety of traditional, artistic, and cultural events.
Old Town Nights, Shorfat Tantora, When Shadow Tracks Us, and the Al-Manshiyah Carnival are among the attractions. There are also culinary experiences, creative and musical performances, special events honoring the Year of Handicrafts, and guided tours of street art in the Old Town.
The Tantora, an old sundial in the heart of Old Town, is the source of the festival’s name. This clock was once used by the people of AlUla to keep track of time and plan their farming operations. By signaling the beginning of winter and the sowing season, the contemporary celebration pays tribute to this custom.
A variety of events are available this year to honor heritage, authentic local culture, and traditional handicraft. The Winter at Tantora Festival, a component of AlUla Moments, promotes initiatives to increase tourism and cultural participation while improving the visitor experience.
