Hezbollah Vows to Confront Israel-US ‘Aggression’ And Refuses to Surrender

BEIRUT: Naim Qassem, the leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese organization, stated in a televised statement on Wednesday night that Hezbollah will fight “Israeli-American aggression” and will not give up despite the “imbalance in capabilities.”

In his first statement since his group fired missiles at Israel on Monday and Israel started bombing Lebanon, the Hezbollah commander said, “We are facing aggression… our choice is to confront it until the ultimate sacrifice, and we will not surrender.

What Israel did after the rocket salvo was not a response,” Qassem said, refuting the idea that his party initiated the latest round of combat. It was an aggressive move that had been planned beforehand.

It is a fundamental right for Hezbollah and its Islamic resistance to respond to Israeli-American assault. This serves as an existential protection for us. Israel later claimed that its troops had entered cities and villages in south Lebanon as part of the Middle East war that spread to the country on Monday. At least 72 people were murdered and another 83,000 were displaced by the Israeli campaign, according to Lebanese authorities on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Lebanese government said that Hezbollah’s military operations would be “immediately banned” and demanded that the group turn over its weapons. This comes months after the government promised to gradually disarm the group, a pledge that the group has consistently disregarded.
