The Ministry of Energy has invited entries for the inaugural hackathon, which will be hosted by Energy and Industry Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. Under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Energy launched the idea submission phase for the inaugural energy hackathon under the theme ‘Ignite Your Ideas,” the ministry stated in a statement on X.
The event will take place from October 7-9 at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre in Riyadh, bringing together young talent and industry experts to find answers to significant challenges in the energy sector.
The hackathon is being organized in preparation for the 25th WPC Energy Congress, which will be held in Riyadh from October 11 to 15, with the theme “Pathways to an Energy Future for All.” The initiative strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position at the forefront of energy innovation while advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The energy hackathon will focus on six challenges across three tracks: operational efficiency, disruptive innovation, and intelligent control. The operational efficiency track will concentrate on enhancing inspection skills at oil and gas facilities and ensuring power-grid stability as renewable energy generation develops.
