There is a stringent one-day deadline for vendors to remove counterfeit goods off shelves under a new anti-commercial fraud rule. The new regulations require suppliers to promptly cease supplying or selling spoilt, adulterated, or counterfeit goods.
After obtaining information by the Ministry or the appropriate authority, they must remove these commodities from marketplaces and warehouses within a day. All points of sale and organisations that received the goods must be notified by the supplier and instructed to remove the merchandise from their shelves within the same 24-hour period. After that, they have to give the Ministry proof that the withdrawal was completed.
Authorities will intervene if a supplier doesn’t comply within the allotted period. Within the next 48 hours, the Ministry or the appropriate authority will take the required steps to remove the goods from warehouses and markets at the supplier’s expense. Authorities will handle the withdrawal themselves and collect the expenses from the supplier after contacting them if the supplier cannot be found.
In accordance with Cabinet Decision No. (107) of 2026, the ministry implemented the revised executive regulations of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law last month. It created a thorough framework for addressing unethical business practices, such as the importation, production, storage, transportation, promotion, sale, or trade of spoilt, adulterated, or counterfeit goods.
