Kuwait Emphasises National Unity While Documenting Iranian Aggression in a Grade 10 Textbook

The Iranian strikes on Kuwait this year are covered in the country’s Grade 10 history textbook. According to a report by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Qabas, the Ministry of Education has included a description of the bombings and their aftermath in the national history curriculum, calling them “sinful Iranian attacks” against Kuwait.

Pages 56 and 57 of the textbook, The State of Kuwait: The Journey and the Entity, detail the attacks, their effects, and Kuwait’s response, including what it refers to as the nation’s concerted efforts to combat them. The textbook describes missile and drone assaults against government and critical infrastructure as well as residential areas that it attributes to Iran and Iranian-backed organisations.

Kuwait International Airport, the Public Institution for Social Security building, the Ministries Complex, a number of residential neighbourhoods, and water desalination and power plants are among the locations mentioned.

An image of the damage at Kuwait International Airport after the Iranian bombardment is also included. According to the textbook, the attacks violated Kuwait’s security and sovereignty, prompting state institutions to increase their preparedness. The textbook emphasises Kuwait’s denial of the attacks and its right to protect its territory while pursuing diplomatic initiatives to maintain security and stability in the region.
